About the Founder

Jennifer Yager, DO

I am a physician who is board-certified in Psychiatry and Lifestyle Medicine. I have spent most of my professional career as a hospital-based physician, intervening with treatments at the level of acute illness. Modern medicine is great at this approach to illness. We have incredible interventions that save lives. For example, my husband is an interventional cardiologist. He saves lives within minutes every day.

Our work is incredibly rewarding and crucial, but I have noticed a significant gap in public knowledge about preventing illness by making basic lifestyle changes, including the food we eat every day, which is a foundation for good health. Since discovering this gap, I have become passionate about learning as much as possible about how lifestyle, especially diet, impacts health. It is important to me as a physician, and it feels like my responsibility to share my experience with others.

As a physician and the mother of three small children in a two-physician household, I fully understand how daunting the concept of making lifestyle changes can be. If I can do it, I know you can, too! Eating predominantly or exclusively plants has huge added benefits, including protecting the environment and causing less harm to animals. It’s a win-win-win situation.

I am optimistic about the future of our health!

This website has two purposes:

  1. Education: Armed with knowledge rooted in scientific evidence, you can empower yourself to take control of your health. One potent tool is adopting a predominantly plant-based eating pattern, which can yield significant health benefits.

  2. Motivation: Switching from a Standard American Diet to a Plant-Based eating pattern is well within your reach, and it doesn’t mean sacrificing the food you love. It does involve changing habits, and I am here to help.

***Nothing on this website or in my associated blog is medical advice. Changes in lifestyle habits, including changes to eating patterns, may warrant checking with your doctor for advice to meet your unique health needs.
